I’ve always picked up new music either by chance or by recommendation. I love it when someone says, “check this out!”, and it’s something I just wouldn’t have come across normally. So – In internet we trust! Let’s share some recommendations for hidden gems; preferably via a link to something we can hear. The kinds of things that you probably know we’ve not heard.

Great thread – I keep starting these, cos it’s really important that we spread the word about great music!
Anyway, one of my faves at the moment is IWrestledABearOnce – completely insane death-metal/electronica/prog cross-over, with a wikkid sense of humour. :) Much fun.
While we’re getting all metal, I also love the Blotted Science album – intrumental technical metal. Beautifully done.
neither are easy listening, but both well worthwhile ;)

Steve: Nice one! Sounds like a funny version of Meshuggah. That reminds me, there’s a long but really interesting Ben Monder interview here [http://www.wfmu.org/special.php/CB] where he’s just playing, and talking about, his favourite music. He mentions Meshuggah. He also plays some unreleased free duets that are fantastic, and plays live in the studio.
