This little bit is a collection of stuff for the press. A high resolution image and some quotes. Useful tidbits if you’re a promoter or whatnot.
It pains me to put these quotes on this site so if you’re slightly squeamish I’d suggest going here. Otherwise, feel free to peruse these quotes and so on. Please don’t blame me if they give you ulcers. As an antidote you can read a really terrible review written by someone who wasn’t having a nice day at all.

Press Quotes
‘Outram is a guitarist with world-class credentials.’
John Fordham, The Guardian
‘Mike Outram plays the sweetest wailing rock guitar in Britain. It’s a sound of great beauty.’
Seb Scotney, London Jazz
Hi, Mike,
I heard your guitar work for the first time on S. Cornelissen’s new CD, which was sent to me by the label for my radio show, Global Mix. I’d be interested in playing on the air some more CD’s on which you are prominently featured. Here is my one-sheet:
I’m the host of ‘Global Mix’, an eclectic music show on KNTU, Denton, the radio station of University of North Texas (100,000 watts, FM stereo, jazz format). The station has been voted #1 in the Metroplex by ‘D Magazine’, and it can also be heard on the Net. UNT is one of the largest music schools in the U.S. with a prestigious jazz program.
My show has been on the air since 1986. It is a rare outlet for genre-diverse quality music (all varieties of jazz, blues, folk, ethnic, alternative, techno, and sounds in-between) in the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metroplex area, the 5th largest market in the nation. The show’s motto is ‘big ears and an open mind’. It encourages creative listening. I have regularly featured artists from, or similar to, your roster over the years.
This letter is a request for your new and old material as well as for placement on the mailing list for future releases from your label in any category. As a public radio station, we rely solely on promo cd’s. If you’re interested in your artists’ and label’s exclusive promotion in a major U.S. market, please keep ‘Global Mix’ in mind.
Thanks,
Goran Satler

P.S. By the way, how do you pronounce your last name?
Hi Goran,
Thanks for your comment. I’ll give you a shout when my CD is finished later this year.
You pronounce my last name out as in ‘out’ an ram as in ‘ram’ or maybe ‘rum’, crikey, you’ve got me thinking now – a bad thing. How about ‘Owtrum’? Ow as in ‘I’ve dropped a piano on my foot’ and rum as in ‘and now I need a drink’. Many people say ootram, but not me.
Also, If you check out the projects page [link is top left] there are some links to other bands that I play for. I’m sure they’d be up for sending you some music to play on your show.
Cheers, Mike
